Experience ITE

I am Siti Aisyah from class 2T1. We went to the ITE West College for ITE Experience Programme on 10 - 11 August 2012.

We learnt that ITE is a good place to continue our studies after our 'N' Level. They have different types of courses and facilities. They have Business, Hospitality, Retail assistance and many more courses. We learnt about ITE. The school is a very big and each block house different courses. We attended lessons on how to do a Webpage, the F1 car simulator and many more. I like doing the homepage because I can take pictures and create it.

I feel that the ITE visit was good and the teachers were nice and friendly but I feel sad that they never provide nursing courses there. Studing there is harder than Secondary School but I can have better certification for my future.

Singapore's changing landscape

On 17 Jan 2012, our school has invited student from ITE College (West) to teach the SEC 2s on the changing landscape of Singapore. In addition the SEC 2s also learned about the significant of Kranji War Memorial Tombstone, rewards were also given to those active participants... Yum Yum~

Last but not least the SEC 2s got their chance to build the most creative and tallest building from recycle materials...

Overseas Service Learning

Normal Stream Service Learning and Cultural Exchange Trip
Kuching, Sarawak.

(28 November – 02 December 2011)

Twenty-three students from NA & NT went on this service learning trip to Kuching, Sarawak. In our pre-trip preparation, we planned learning activities and conducted fund raising. We did our service learning at Chershire Home for the handicap and Laila orphanage. Though they were disadvantaged, it didn’t stop them from doing some of the things that we thought impossible. Throughout the trip the teachers gave us their full support especially when we were down. Almost every single day, someone will be scolded or praise. We knew that they have our interest at heart. Our seniors also played a role in helping us. Whenever they spotted mistakes or areas for improvement, they would approach us personally and advise us. At the end of each day, we came together and do debrief. Through the debrief sessions, we learnt to value what we have, learn from our mistakes, accept what is given to us and raise above our hardship.

Elective Modules [May 2009]

After the school midyear examinations, the school conducted a series of elective modules such as animation, Beautician, food & beverage, hairstyling, motorcycle servicing and tourism for the whole secondary 3 & 4 normal stream pupils.

The elective modules were conducted from 20th May to 26th May 2009 (0800hrs to 1330hrs).

For the animation module , the pupils were taught how to create cartoons and anime and the basics of photography.

For Beautician, the pupils were taught the basics on being a beautician and went on a field trip to a spa to see how the beauticians worked.

For Food and Beverage, the pupils were taught how to prepare different dishes from appetisers, to main courses to desserts.

For Hairstyling, the pupils were taught the basics on being a hairstylist and they went on a field trip to an old folks home to do their Community Involvement Programme by giving the old folks a haircut and to spend some time with them.

For motorcycle servicing, the pupils were taught the parts of the motorcycle, how to dismantle it, clean and repair the necessary parts.










For tourism, the pupils were taught how to be tourist guides and to plan itineraries for tours.
